Normalised duplicate checks
Before adding an item, quantities, common units and spacing are normalised so an equivalent ingredient already on the list is not added twice. Different ingredient names remain separate.
Plan once, shop once
Generate a practical checklist from planned recipes, or choose the missing ingredients from a pantry match. Big Recipe Book preserves each complete ingredient line exactly as the recipe wrote it.
Deliberately predictable
Before adding an item, quantities, common units and spacing are normalised so an equivalent ingredient already on the list is not added twice. Different ingredient names remain separate.
A pantry match opens a preselected checklist. Untick anything you do not need, then add the remaining lines to the current week.
Planned ingredients show their recipe and day. Pantry-match additions show “From pantry match” with a snapshot of the recipe title.
Regeneration without surprises
Regenerating a shopping list from the meal plan replaces generated plan ingredients but preserves manual entries and items added from pantry matching.
Big Recipe Book does not combine quantities or deduct ingredients from your pantry automatically.
