Big Recipe Book separates the useful recipe from the page around it, then gives you a private place to improve, organise, share and plan with it.
01
Add recipes your way
Paste a public recipe URL or recipe text, upload a photo, screenshot or PDF, or begin with a blank recipe. A PDF containing several recipes creates a separate saved recipe for each one found and keeps an embedded recipe photo when available.
02
Review what was saved
URL and text imports open as editable drafts. Photo and PDF imports save automatically, then show each saved recipe for review. Check the title, timing, servings, ingredients, method and any OCR warning against the original.
03
Make the collection yours
Edit recipes, add private notes, mark favourites, rate recipes and place them in collections. Use Organise recipes to select several recipes and move them to one category or delete them together.
04
Scale, share or cook
Change the serving count to scale recognised ingredient quantities, print a clean copy or export the recipe as JSON. You can create a revocable link for another signed-in user; notes, collections, ratings and favourite status stay private.
05
List what you have
Add ingredient names from your pantry, fridge and cupboard. Saved recipes are ranked by how few ingredients are missing; possible matches wait for your confirmation.
06
Plan and shop
Add a saved recipe with the servings you intend to make, or add a quick idea to the week. Generate its shopping list, or review and add selected missing ingredients from a pantry match.
Your data
Private account content
Saved recipes, collection names, ratings, favourites, personal notes, pantry items, confirmed ingredient matches, meal plans, reusable plans and shopping lists are associated with your signed-in account. Only the cooking details of a recipe are available through a share link you create.
Settings lets you choose whether this device stays signed in for 30 days, delete every recipe, delete every weekly meal plan or close the account and remove its active data. Deleting a recipe also disables its share link.
The URL importer opens the public page you provide. It does not bypass protected or login-only pages, and should be used in line with the source site's terms.
Photo and PDF uploads must be no larger than 20 MB, and PDFs can contain up to 100 pages. Handwriting, fractions and complex layouts may be misread, so compare every saved recipe with the original before cooking.
